growth simulation, some of Jake Maier Forestry's many services for

The aerial
photo to the left clearly shows water bodies (black), roads (white in
lower left corner), railroad bed (white and gray diagonally through the
photo), the different tree stands on a property, and a variety of other
information. A soil map depicting the same area is tugged into the lower
right corner.

The graphic depiction
of an inventory (each inventory plot separately recognizable) can be
seen to the right with perspective view, overhead view and profile view.
These graphics show clearly if a cruise reflects the actual stand.
Additionally it shows canopy density and stratification of the crown area.
Growth,
mortality, and management outcomes of a stand can also be simulated over many
decades. It is cheaper and more effective to first test several
treatments in a simulation before applying the treatment to the forest.
